Logistics Director Jobs

A logistics director is responsible for leading and strategically managing an entire logistics department. Specific duties of a logistics director include appraising the performance of various logistics managers and their team members; allocating resources to the logistics teams; handling administrative tasks pertaining to the department; acting as interface between top-management and the junior managers; providing motivating and guidance to various department members; meeting the profitability and productivity goals for the department; deploying personnel for various important tasks for the department; and performing several other tasks as required. A logistics director typically reports to the vice president or the chief operations officer.
A logistics director should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area. Excellent academic credentials and several years of progressively responsible experience in the area of logistics are essential for a logistics director position.
