Logistics Planner Jobs

A logistics planner is responsible for planning the inbound logistics, outbound logistics and the storage of materials in the warehouses. Specific duties of a logistics planner include planning transportation schedules, coordinating with clients regarding their transportation needs, understanding the transportation requirements, planning for vehicles and logistics personnel or workers, allocating budgets for a trip or a truckload, deploying man power for various transportation projects at hand, planning to optimize the usage of resources, reducing transportation costs through proper planning and performing several other tasks as required. A logistics planner typically reports to a logistics manager.
A logistics planner should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area. Prior experience in planning logistics or as a logistics planner might be helpful. Excellent planning skills and the ability to foresee things are required.
