Logistics Consultant Jobs

A logistics consultant is responsible for providing expert advice to clients in the area of logistics management. Specific duties of a logistics consultant include maintaining business relationships with clients, visiting clients' facilities in order to understand their logistics requirements, studying the inventory requirements and consumption patterns, suggesting needs for warehouses and vehicles, coordinating with managers acting as points of contacts, creating a positive image of the company in the eyes of the clients; offering advice or suggesting on third party warehouses; keeping contacts with vehicle owners, warehouse owners and vendors in the industry; working on special projects and adhering to established standards in the area of logistics management. A logistics consultant typically reports to the logistics director.
A logistics consultant should have an associate's degree and several years of experience in logistics management. Ability to understand clients' requirements and immediately propose solutions are required for a logistics consultant role.
