Logistics Clerk Jobs

A logistics clerk is responsible for performing various administrative or clerical tasks in a logistics department. Specific duties of a logistics clerk include performing data entry for the department; receiving telephone calls; keeping contacts with industry experts; arranging for conference rooms; assisting in scheduling of freight; coordinating with vendors, clients and staff members; establishing business relationships with representatives from client companies; assisting in preparation of administrative reports; receiving and preparing invoices on behalf of the department; working on special projects; projecting the right image of the company through various transactions with clients and performing other tasks assigned by the logistics manager. A logistics clerk typically reports to a logistics manager.
A logistics clerk should have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a relevant area. Prior experience working as a logistics clerk may be helpful. Ability to multi-task and familiarity with use of Microsoft Office applications are required.
