Logistics Account Manager Jobs

A logistics account manager is responsible for starting up new accounts from customers in the area of logistics. Specific duties of a logistics account manager include analyzing and recommending innovative improvements to existing systems; focusing efforts on eliminating the cause of recurring issues; maintaining relationships with carriers, vendors, and customers; acting as liaison between departments, the customer, and the account general manager for better coordination; developing standard operating procedures; making outbound calls to clients; visiting clients' facilities; identifying and resolving customer/carrier issues; gathering data; training logistics account executives; analyzing and understanding customer problems and taking appropriate action. A logistics account manager typically reports to a logistics sales manager.
A logistics account manager should have a four-year degree, preferably with a strong academic background. Prior experience in logistics or other customer service management role is helpful.
