Import Jobs
An import logistics professional is responsible for managing import related concerns of a logistics department. Specific duties of an import logistics professional include receiving and processing routine customer orders; following up order activity throughout the order cycle; controlling shipments by scheduling loads verifying quantity and items; monitoring progress of shipments to destination; arranging for delivery of shipments to freight forwarders; handling order-related inquiries; issuing and handling import documents; providing suggestions for improving various import logistics processes; coordinating with vendors and people from various departments in the company; making use of Microsoft office applications; and performing several other tasks as required. An import logistics professional typically reports to a logistics manager.
An import logistics professional should have a high school diploma. An associate's degree or a bachelor’s degree is an asset. Prior experience in an import logistics setting is advantageous.
