The most known entry-level logistics positions are those of a logistics representative, logistics associate, logistics assistant, logistics analyst, logistics consultant, logistics specialist and logistics executive. An entry-level logistics professional is responsible for performing a variety of operational tasks in a logistics department. Various duties of entry-level logistics professionals are managing inbound and outbound logistics, coordinating with vendors, assisting in preparation of logistics reports and administrative reports, keeping an eye on various transportation activities; receiving incoming inquiries; checking emails; making outbound calls to clients and performing several other tasks as required by the logistics manager. An entry-level logistics professional typically reports to a logistics manager.
An entry-level logistics professional should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area. Excellent academic credentials are essential. Ability to multi-task and coordinate with department members for various operational tasks are required.
